Paper 5: Measurement and Scaling Concepts November 7, 2009

Ugh. Another read-and-answer the question paper today. In all, there are 15 questions to answer, with a minium of 125 words per response…and the paper is to be 1-2 pages in length. What? Are you kidding me? The average word count of a 12pt TNR font double-spaced paper is 250-300 words per page. So we are talking about 600 words. Now if we do the math…15 questions x 125 words = 1,875 words….or 7-8 pages. Either NCU can’t count or there is a major typo in the syllabus. You know, it is these kinds of things that DRIVE ME CRAZY. We are expected to be detailed, accurate, and right 100% of the time in our assignments, yet a syllabus can have nutty errors in it? Now don’t get me started talking about the fact that the syllabus contains references to page numbers that are in previous editions of the texts…..

Do you have a copy of Methods in behavioral research Cozby textbook edition 10?

Assignment nine is answer questions 6-8 on page 119 well I have not got that edition of the book…can you tell me what those three question are?

Hmmm….My syllabus for RSH9102B assignment 9 says: Read the Zikmund text, chapter 7. Answer questions 1-7 on page 133 which reviews exploratory research. Please answer questions in detail and support your answers with scholarly research citations where appropriate. Each response should be approximately 125 words using critical thinking skills.

I do have the Cozby text and here are the questions on p. 119:
6. What is a case study? When are case studies used? What is a psychobiography?
7. What is archival research? What are the major sources of archival data?
8. What is content analysis?
